People see what they want to see

I remember when I was working on Roobarb, so many people said to me, "Man, the originals were crazy! They must have been off their faces when they made that!"

They weren't, I can assure you. In fact, watching the originals as an adult, yes, they are wacky but there is a logic to all of the episodes that was simply missed by many children, so leading to the memory of them being absolutely crazy.

Then there is a different matter of adults watching shows with their cynic goggles on. Thing is, children don't have these yet. That's the beauty of working with children's shows.

Sometimes a cartoon is just a cartoon. Oh, and there was no 'Seaman Stain' in Pugwash. There never was.
