The UK comics scene is something to be celebrated, as those who grew up on the Beano, Whizzer and Chips and more will understand. These comics were, in my opinion, a defining part of the culture over this end of the world (even reading them here in Ireland) and, like the UK animation of the 70s, were doing things that just weren't happening in the US and other countries. These are things to be proud of.
